"Management meetings should be the time you get the MOST out of your team."

Some occasionally-asked questions

General
What is Samewave?

Samewave is a new breed of business management software that banishes bad meetings, increases productivity & drives your business forward. It's a simple performance management & collaboration app for that'll enable you to replace all your time-consuming and laborious meetings with live updates from Samewave, freeing you up to do what really matters!

How does Samewave work?

We’ve harnessed the power of several excellent business management methodologies; Balanced Scorecard Reporting (BSR), Management by Objective (MBO), The Checklist Manifesto and Promise-based Management, to provide you with versatile and intelligent performance metrics in an intuitive and simple user interface, that you can use to measure any kind of performance across anything and everything. This combined with the latest social technology for real-time collaboration and updates, gives you the ability to track, measure, report and act on critical performance throughout your entire business at the drop of a hat.

How would Samewave help me?

Gone are the wasteful meetings where people dug through labyrinthine excel sheets, or simply didn’t have any numbers to report at all, replaced by the SameWave scoreboard with everyone’s key metrics, up-to-date and accurate. Freeing the meeting to be productive once more or perhaps not even needing to meet at all. SameWave enables true clarity and accountability within your organisation, with people knowing exactly what they need to do and exactly how they’ll be measured, this transparency encourages improved performance and output. SameWave can be deployed at any level in any organisation to provide clear and accurate management reporting.

What is performance / talent management?

Performance Management (PM) is about aligning an organisation’s resources, systems and assets to its strategic objectives and priorities, then managing the difference between the actual results and the desired results. It includes activities which ensure that goals or targets are consistently being met in an effective and efficient manner. Essentially it enables you to effectively track, measure and improve things across your business. Talent Management is about planning for, understanding, and keeping talented people within your organisation in order to improve overall business value and success. Talent management systems enable this by providing integrated HR functions and clear performance management so that talented people are compelled to stay.

Can I try it for free?

Yes, we have a freemium version of Samewave that is free.

Do I need to install anything?

On your mobile device you can either install the Samewave native app or use it through your mobile web browser. On your desktop PC you can use the Samewave app through your web browser. As a Software-As-A-Service (SaaS) based application, Samewave stores the majority of itself in the cloud, with the exception of the native mobile app.We recommend keeping the native mobile app up-to-date and using the latest versions of the Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge web browsers for best experience.

How reliable is Samewave?

The technology partners and platforms behind Samewave, Heroku and Amazon Web Services, maintain consistent high availability, fully redundant and completely recoverable networks with 99% uptime and data retention guarantees. It’s unlikely that SameWave will ever be offline for more than 24 hours at most in isolated incidents, or lose any data irrecoverably.

How customisable are the permissions?

Very customisable, the team owner and administrator roles can edit and manage all permissions within a Samewave team.

My data is sensitive, can I control who sees what?

We understand that performance management data can be sensitive and varied in who should have visibility. We’ve created a simple to use yet wide-ranging permissions system within Samewave to accommodate this. It’s governed by role and access rights with the ability to automatically cascade throughout your Samewave team - all of which is easily controlled by the team owner and administrator roles. With this you can control on a per object or person basis, who has access to what data, whether it’s read or write, and whether it’s entirely visible or only visible in isolation.

Can Samewave see my data?

No, the security and privacy of our customers' data is of the utmost importance to us. We can gain access to customers data in order to be able to fully restore or remove it in accordance with customer requests, however we do not view or access that data unless specifically requested to do so by the customer. Any such access request must go through internal and external approval processes with oversight from our management team.

Where is Samewave’s data stored?

Samewave is hosted on Heroku, which in-turn backs it’s data storage hosting onto Amazon Web Services (AWS). Currently Samewave is utilising the European-based storage locations via Heroku and AWS.

What if I lose access to my Samewave?

You should be able to regain access via the automated password retrieval function in the app, if not you can contact one of your team's administrators to reset your account access for you. If you need assistance beyond that you can contact our support team directly at support@samewave.com, who will verify your identity and ownership, then assist with reinstating access for you.

How secure is Samewave?

At Samewave we take data security and integrity very seriously, the Samewave application is built with Ruby on Rails (RoR) and JavaScript (JS). It uses Service Orientated Architecture (SOA) and Client Side framework models, whereby each part of the application is architecturally separate and all data is stored on secure servers. The Client Side framework model ensures that no data is stored locally on users' devices, instead it’s all transmitted on request via SSL 256 bit secure connections from Samewave’s secure servers to the users device during an active session. Those active sessions are further secured by regularly rotating authentication keys within the session cookies, based on the users unique Samewave account, from the core Samewave API to the users device, preventing any possibility of middle-man attacks or other breaches between the client and the server.Samewave’s servers are hosted with Heroku, a highly respected Platform-As-A-Service (PaaS) provider. Through that we benefit from their stringent and industry standard security compliance, including: ISO 27001, SOC1 and SOC2/SSAE 16/ISAE 3402, PCI Level 1, FISMA Moderate, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and SSL 1048 bit. In addition to that are a range of vulnerability management, environmental safeguards, network, data and system security in place with Heroku. For more detailed information please refer to their security policy here: https://www.heroku.com/policy/security.We aim to keep our service safe for everyone and we abide by the responsible disclosure principles, if you are a security professional and have discovered a security vulnerability in Samewave, we greatly appreciate your help in disclosing it to us in a responsible manner and we will respond to any such disclosures within 24 hours.
